Election for Independent Representatives on BPI Council
04 February 2025 – Press release
The BPI, the representative voice for the UK’s world-leading record companies and label businesses, today announces the names of the candidates standing for election as Independent label representatives on BPI Council.
Each year, the longest-standing Independent members of BPI Council must retire by rotation. This year, there are three vacancies, following the retirement by rotation of Stefania Passamonte and of Pat Carr – both of whom are standing again – and the retirement of Nick Hartley.
Full BPI Independent label members are entitled to vote for up to three candidates. The election, which will be overseen by Civica Election Services, will be online only.
There are nine candidates in all, each standing to take one of the three places available. These are:
• Joel Duncan – Mixtape Madness
• Jon Bosaen – Regent Street Records
• Mark Dowling – Absolute Label Services
• Michael Neidus – Demon Music Group
• Pat Carr – Remote Control
• Phil Legg – Futureproof Records
• Pru Harris – Marathon Music Group
• Stefania Passamonte – Master Chord Records
• Yasin El Ashrafi – HQ Recording
Members eligible to vote will receive a link, and voting will remain open until 1pm, 17 February 2025. Queries should be directed to BPI’s Director of Membership & International, Chris Tams chris.tams@bpi.co.uk
