This August, Discovery Channel is premiering “Bering Sea Gold” on 8/1, “Expedition X” on 8/2, “Mysteries of the Abandoned: Hidden America” on 8/29 and “Expedition Bigfoot” on 8/30.

Tuesday, August 1
• “Bering Sea Gold” Debuts on Discovery Channel – 9pm ET/PT
• Contending for Godfather status in Nome, the miners – including a young newcomer – return to the frigid Bering Sea, battling dangerous underwater ice formations, equipment failures, and crew mishaps during one of the most ferocious winters Nome has ever seen.
Wednesday, August 2
• “Expedition X” Debuts on Discovery Channel – 9pm ET/PT
• Josh Gates has decided it’s time to really explore the dark side of our world. To this end, Gates has put together a team to undertake investigations delving into realms beyond the ‘unknown.’ He’s picked Jessica Chobot and Phil Torres to mount unprecedented expeditions into the unexplained and perhaps…unexplainable.

• “Mysteries of the Abandoned: Hidden America” Debuts on Discovery Channel – 10pm ET/PT
• America’s past is filled with intriguing locations that bear exploration: diners, drive-ins, gas stations, fallout shelters, theaters, bars, pool halls, juke joints among many others. Some of these places haven’t made it to present day use, but still stand as eerie reminders of a country’s remarkable cultural history. This off-shoot of the successful “Mysteries of the Abandoned” investigates the stories behind these amazing sites and celebrates some of these great American icons.

• “Expedition Bigfoot” Debuts on Discovery Channel – 10pm ET/PT
• The Expedition Bigfoot team faces their most difficult challenge yet when they hunt for evidence in the Alaska mountains. From searching abandoned mines to exploring uncharted ice caves, they will stop at nothing to bring home proof of the elusive beast.
