List Recognizes Firms Finding New Ways to Help Clients Manage Their Financial Lives

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., September 12, 2023 – CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, today announced the 2023 CNBC Financial Advisor 100. Now in its fifth year, the CNBC FA 100 is a ranked list of the top advisory firms in the country that are helping guide clients through the journey of achieving financial freedom. The firms on the 2023 list average 35 years in business and have more than $300 billion in investor assets under management.

After more than a year of recession predictions, some experts have backed off past forecasts and now embrace what’s known as a “soft landing” for the economy. Even so, investors have been forced to reevaluate their finances and take control of an unpredictable environment. But the search for professional help can be daunting and people don’t know where to begin.

The list was selected from 812 qualifying firms using a proprietary methodology developed by CNBC in partnership with data provider AccuPoint Solutions. The analysis started with an initial list of more than 40,500 registered investment advisory firms. Categories in the methodology include: total assets under management, number of investment advisors registered with the firm, advisor’s compliance record and total accounts under management, among others. CNBC and AccuPoint Solutions determined the weighting for each category, further refining and ranking the firms, ultimately leading to the final CNBC FA 100. All of the data collected from the RIAs was information culled from the firm’s filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The complete methodology can be found here.

CNBC’s Senior Personal Finance Correspondent Sharon Epperson unveiled the list on air today and will continue to have special coverage throughout Business Day programming. CNBC.com’s special report, CNBC.com/FA100, features articles that include a look at how the advisory firms were selected, an in-depth interview with the top finisher, and an overview of the state of the FA industry, among others. Additionally, Mason King of Luther King Capital Management, will be interviewed on CNBC’s “The Exchange” (M-F, 1PM-2PM ET) today, Tuesday, September 12th.
