Ross Kemp brings the famous bridge to Saturday nights, with a star-studded line-up of celebrity contestants

As teams of families and friends continue to try to conquer the Bridge of Lies every weekday afternoon on BBC One, host Ross Kemp is stepping things up a notch.
From 6 April, he’ll bring the famous bridge to Saturday nights, with a star-studded line-up of celebrity contestants ready to take it on in the hope of winning some cash for their chosen charities.
Back for a second eight-part series, Celebrity Bridge of Lies will once again see much-loved actor and presenter Ross help steer teams of celebrities across the interactive bridge on the studio floor. But they’ll have to be careful to step on the truths and avoid the lies, or they’ll risk falling off and out the game and could go home empty-handed.
Filmed at the BBC’s Pacific Quay studios in Glasgow, the new series introduces the ‘Hotline’ feature for the first time, which allows the playing contestant to seek advice from their teammates in the Waiting Room if they’re stuck. But they only have a few seconds to chat, so the pressure is on…
Ross Kemp says: “I have such a brilliant time filming the daytime version of Bridge of Lies, but there’s something about the celebrity series that ramps the jeopardy up a gear. Maybe it’s the fact that the celebs are doing it for charity… or simply that they have reputations to uphold!

Celebrity Bridge of Lies kicks off on Saturday 6 April with an eclectic team made up of two sporting legends, a BBC Radio 1 presenter, and one of the nation’s favourite sitcom stars – but can Dion Dublin, Sam Quek, Melvin Odoom and Joanna Page work well enough as a team to bring home some money?

Later episodes in the series feature teams of pop icons (Sinitta, Ian ‘H’ Watkins, Ritchie Neville and Una Healy); BBC Morning Live presenters (Gethin Jones, Dr Ranj Singh, Anna Haugh and Briony May Williams); and soap stars (Chris Bisson, Lucy-Jo Hudson, Simon Gregson and Danielle Harold).
Danielle’s EastEnders alter ego, Lola Pearce, is a distant relative of Ross’ character, Grant Mitchell – but will the hardy East End spirit be on show on the night, or will she crack under the pressure?
Other family ties in the new series of Celebrity Bridge of Lies include a team made up of actor Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz, and presenter Alex Beresford and his father Noel.
The latter duo recently won Celebrity Race Across the World, travelling from Morocco to Norway in the fastest time – but will they manage to get from one end of the bridge to the other without stepping on any lies?
