BBC Introducing Live makes big return with events across the UK

BBC Introducing has today announced the return of its highly anticipated, flagship music discovery event – BBC Introducing Live – with a new format to support even more young musicians, creatives, and industry talent across the UK.

This year’s edition of BBC Introducing Live is taking place from Wednesday 11 – Saturday 14 October and promises to be bigger, bolder, and more inspiring than ever before, as it spans across three vibrant cities: London, Manchester, and Cardiff.

In a celebration of young, undiscovered talent across the UK, BBC Introducing Live will host a captivating array of activities, ensuring a rich and diverse experience for all involved. From educational panels featuring industry veterans to immersive workshops that delve into the intricacies of the music industry, plus a full schedule of live performances and opportunities for unsigned artists to practice their performing skills – attendees are in for an enriching journey of music discovery.

BBC Introducing Live will also host ‘feedback centres’ providing constructive feedback on demos and work in progress, empowering young creatives to refine and elevate their craft.

BBC Introducing has this year partnered with Beyond The Music Festival in Manchester, the Roundhouse Rising Festival in London, and Wales Millennium Centre’s Llais festival in Cardiff to bring the mix of live performances, workshops, open mic events, open deck sessions and feedback centres or BBC Introducing Live to life.

Attendees can look forward to an array of highlights, including:

BBC Introducing Live with Beyond The Music Festival, Wednesday 11 – Thursday 12 October

Beyond The Music Festival is a changemaking conference and new music festival held in Manchester. BBC Introducing will curate a panel about UK music’s talent pipeline and the development of new artists, featuring industry entrepreneurs, execs and artists. Plus there will be a day of live music at the iconic Band on the Wall venue showcasing the cutting-edge talent and eclectic mix of genres that reflect the thriving Manchester music scene and its cultural renaissance. Acts already confirmed include July 7, Wooze, Walt Disco, Cody Frost & L’Objectif. Finally, there will be an open decks session for aspiring DJs offering a unique chance to spin tracks and share their musical soundscape with a live audience.

Roundhouse Rising x BBC Introducing Live, Thursday 12 – Saturday 14 October

Roundhouse Rising is a three-day festival at the Roundhouse in London, presenting the best in new music across a variety of genres. BBC Introducing will curate six unique panels with subject topics including:

• How BBC Introducing can help an artist
• Being an Independent Artist
• Do you need a record label to make it?
• How to Smash a Live Set
• The Art Of Song
• How We Made It
• Getting National Recognition

A number of BBC presenters including DJ Target, Jess Iszatt, Angelle Joseph, Jasmine Takhar, Abbie McCarthy, and Tom Robinson, will host the panels.

Alongside this inspiring daytime programme of events, artists announced to perform on the evening of Saturday, 14 October include COLECTIVA and Wooze. Additionally, the Roundhouse Resident Artist showcase, in partnership with BBC Introducing, will showcase the new intake of Roundhouse resident artists: Amy Gadiaga, Naima Adams, and Faker Villain, on 12 October, and Hohnen Ford, Tenderloin, and Gigi Williams on 13th October.

BBC Introducing Live at Llais, Wales Millennium Centre, Friday 13th October

BBC Introducing, BBC Horizons/Gorwelion (a scheme delivered by BBC Cymru Wales in partnership with Arts Council Wales) and Llais, Cardiff’s international arts festival have joined forces to bring a spectacular line-up of exciting emerging local artists and special live collaborations for this year’s BBC Introducing Live in Cardiff. Llais is Wales Millennium Centre’s annual festival inspired by the instrument that connects us all – the voice. Local artists and bands confirmed include L E M F R E C K, NOOKEE and SOURCE.
