BBC celebrates nine nominations for BAFTA film awards

Published: January 15, 2025 — The BBC is celebrating nine nominations for its films across a number of categories at this year’s BAFTA Film Awards, the most prestigious date in the UK’s film awards calendar.

BBC Film has supported the development and production of five nominated films:

• Andrea Arnold’s Bird is nominated for Outstanding British Film (producers: Tessa Ross, Juliette Howell, Lee Groombridge)

• Luna Carmon’s Hoard is nominated for Outstanding Debut (producers: Loran Dunn, Helen Simmons, Andy Starke)

• Nora Fingscheidt’s The Outrun is nominated in two categories: Leading Actress (Saoirse Ronan) and Outstanding British Film (producers: Sarah Brocklehurst, Dominic Norris, Jack Lowden, Saoirse Ronan)

• Sandhya Suri’s Santosh is nominated for Outstanding Debut (producers: Mike Goodridge, James Bowsher, Balthazar de Ganay, Alan McAlex)

• Matty Crawford’s Stomach Bug is nominated for British Short Film (producer: Karima Sammout-Kanellopoulou)

The BBC is also celebrating three nominations for Aardman’s Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, directed by Merlin Crossingham and Nick Park (Outstanding British Film, Children’s and Family Film and Animated Film).
