Amanda Holden to cycle over 250 miles in aid of Global’s Make Some Noise
Heart Breakfast’s Amanda Holden will cycle a lengthy 250 miles from Bude, Cornwall to London in a bid to raise funds for Global’s Make Some Noise
Published: September 30, 2024 — ‘Amanda Holden’s Big Ride To Work’ will see Amanda Holden cycle from Bude, Cornwall, to the Heart studios in Leicester Square over the course of five days, clocking up a gruelling six hours of cycling a day and covering over 250 miles. On Monday 7th October, Amanda will begin her challenge in Cornwall, cycling through Somerset, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Surrey to get to Heart HQ in London’s Leicester Square on Friday 11th October – just in time for Global’s Make Some Noise Day.
Amanda Holden, who hosts Heart Breakfast alongside Jamie Theakston, is taking on the challenge in aid of Heart’s charity, Global’s Make Some Noise, which is changing lives across the UK by funding vital projects delivered by small charities – tackling issues such as mental health, poverty and homelessness.
Amanda Holden is no stranger to tough challenges, having previously completed the Three Peaks Challenge, a 10,000 feet skydive and climbing to the top of Blackpool Tower, all in aid of Global’s Make Some Noise. ‘Amanda Holden’s Big Ride To Work’ will be the farthest and longest Amanda has ever cycled before!
JK [Jason King], who is standing in for Jamie Theakston, will be in the Heart studio all week cheering and checking in on Amanda Holden as she cycles across the UK, as well as talking to some of the amazing charities that Global’s Make Some Noise has supported over the years.
“I can’t quite believe that I’m going to be cycling over 250 miles from my mum’s house in Cornwall to London for Global’s Make Some Noise – it’s a massive challenge! I’m told it’s not going to be particularly flat so I’m gonna have buns of steel by the end of this!
“Knowing that every mile I cover will help raise funds for those local projects providing a lifeline directly to those who need it most is what will keep me going. Plus, I’ll get the nicest Cornish sendoff from my mum with a big cuddle!
“I can’t wait to see how much we can raise for Global’s Make Some Noise, I know we’ll get incredible support from our amazing listeners. Their generosity truly means the world, and together we can help those projects that make such a difference in their communities.” – AMANDA HOLDEN
“Amanda is taking on a massive challenge this year, all to raise money for the fantastic projects supported by Global’s Make Some Noise. I’ll be right here in the studio, cheering her on every step of the way! I’ll also be talking to people who have benefitted from the generosity of our amazing Heart listeners, showing how your donations can really help change lives! ” – JK, HEART PRESENTER
