DE: Liaze's '2003' soars to chart and streaming milestones

BMG artist Liaze’s latest single, ‘2003’, has achieved remarkable success in its first week. The track, inspired by the theme song of a Russian children’s show, quickly climbed up various music charts, in particular, it reached number 13 on the Official German Singles chart and number two on the YouTube chart.

In addition, the single reached number ten on the German Spotify chart and jumped to number eight on the German Shazam chart, accumulating over 52,000 Shazam tags. The single was also included in popular playlists such as Hot Hits Germany, Viral Hits, New Music Friday, Hyped and more. On TikTok, the track generated over 7,000 creations and a staggering 20 million views. ‘2003’ was streamed 4.6 million times across all digital platforms in its first week of release.

Liaze began his journey at the age of seven. His 2019 debut single, ‘Viel zu viel’, a collaboration with Dane, was followed by several singles before he ventured into album production in 2020. The release of ‘Paradise (Mit Dir)’ in May 2022 marked a turning point in Liaze’s career. The composition, which uses a sample from Coldplay’s ‘Paradise’, was not only an integral part of his Mixed Feelings album, but also debuted at number two on the German and Austrian Singles charts and, remarkably, made it into the Swiss charts at number ten. Coldplay recognized Liaze’s version and featured it on their highly acclaimed Music of the Spheres tour.

Meanwhile, on the Official German Albums chart, BMG writers contributed to the top three positions with Hackney Diamonds by The Rolling Stones at Number One, One More Time… by blink-182, produced by Aaron Rubin, and Supervision by Mark Forster at number three, with Daniel Nitt and Oliver Peterhof as co-writers.
