USA TODAY’s “States of America” launches season two of its documentary-style news and politics show. The “States of America” series amplifies local journalism and provides viewers an in-depth look of pressing issues facing our communities across the country with exclusive interviews and unique coverage.
Season two’s debut episode, “The Tyre Nichols’ Beating: What Went Wrong in Memphis?” addresses the tragic death of Tyre Nichols in Memphis, Tennessee. The episode investigates how an un-armed Black man was beaten by officers after an alleged traffic violation and features an emotional interview with Tyre’s sister, Keyana Dixon, who talks about the justice he deserves, and the love Tyre brought to those around him. Produced in partnership with Memphis-based USA TODAY Network publication Commercial Appeal, the episode airs tonight at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. EST on USA TODAY Streaming Channels and YouTube.
“States of America” season two will be comprised of four episodes, airing quarterly. Upcoming episodes take on the aftermath of overturning Roe v Wade and other stories gripping the nation.
